She talks about some comparisons between the Chris Rock/Will Smith controversy at the Oscars last night to what happened with Sacheen Littlefeather where she represented Marlon Brando at the 1973 Oscars and declined his Best Actor award for his performance in The Godfather. She also talks about the Great Sioux Nation in South Dakota issuing a “Notice of Trespass (Cease and Desist)” order against Connie Uhre-Grand Gateway Hotel after the owner posted that she would ban Native Americans from the hotel property. Next we’re joined by Dr. Anthony Stately, CEO of Native American Community Clinic. He and the Native Roots crew talk about the new Omicron sub variant spreading in the US, the importance of continuing to test for COVID, Dr. Stately’s own experience being hospitalized with COVID and more.
