Native Roots Radio Presents I’m Awake – July 26, 2021

Today’s hosts are Robert Pilot, Wendy Pilot, Ogimaa Giniw Ikwe and Louis Eagle Thunder. Ogimaa has our Native News. She highlights some upcoming stop Line 3 events, the Giniw Collective winning a restraining order against the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Pennington County law enforcement interrupting a Native prayer ceremony claiming that they were “trespassing” plus more news. In segment 2 we have a round table with Robert, Wendy, Ogimaa and Louis talking about a visit Robert and Wendy had over the weekend to the deep north to stand with other water protectors. We’re also joined by Dr. Anthony Stately. He talks about how several tribes around the country are trying to help with increasing vaccination rates and the importance of getting vaccinated amid the Delta and other variants. We also have some unfortunate breaking news of a tornado that touched down at the Red Lake Reservation.
