O’ Powa O’ Meng: The Art and Legacy of Jody Folwell Showing Now at MIA

The Minneapolis Institute of Art is showcasing The Art and Legacy of Jody Folwell, a groundbreaking exhibition featuring the work of renowned potter Jody Folwell from Kha’p’o Owingeh (Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico). Over the past 50 years, Folwell has revolutionized Pueblo pottery by weaving personal, political, and social stories into her creations, breaking new ground for Native and contemporary American art. Titled O’ Powa O’ Meng (“I came here, I got here, I’m still going”), this exhibition highlights the incredible breadth of Folwell’s career, illustrating her evolution as an artist who continues to push the boundaries of form and design.

Organized in collaboration with the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia, this exhibit is supported by the Terra Foundation for American Art and is on display at the MIA through January. To learn more, visit ArtsMia.org.
