Our featured idealist is an organization, Sandy Hook Promise, which was created by parents who lost children in the horrific school shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012. SHP works to end gun violence in our schools and in doing so, promotes inclusivity and compassion for all students. The Big Interview is with Cheryl Thomas, the founder of Global Rights for Women, which promotes women’s human rights and seeks to end violence against
women and girls. In my C-Block, I talk about how the MN National Guard has been excluded from this year’s Twin Cities Pride festivities (note, post show, TC Pride advised that the Guard hadn’t completed the proper paperwork to be in the Pride parade; in turn, the Guard advised that wasn’t true).
