Happy Pride Month! In honor of Pride, our featured idealist is Dan Savage of the “Savage Love” advice column; while Savage has generated controversy for some of his statements and positions, he’s for sure an idealist—he founded “It Gets Better,” a website/project aimed at encouraging LGBTQ youth to persist despite bullying and societal challenges. The Big Interview is with Jess Braverman, the Legal Director for Gender Justice in St. Paul. In the C-Block, I share about how transgender people have been asking for my time to listen to their stories; I also ask, “What have you learned about America in the past ten weeks?” I remind listeners of the need to vote on November 3; you’ll hear me say that a lot over the next five months!
