Native Americans are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s or other dementias than white or Asian Americans. Yet, indigenous communities remain significantly underrepresented in dementia research. This Friday, the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota and North Dakota is hosting a special virtual event to address this critical issue.

This Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, join Dr. William G. Mantyh as he discusses disparities in dementia research and the unique challenges Native American communities face. Discover how partnering with Tribal Nations as decision-makers can pave the way for better outcomes in the fight against dementia.

November is National Native American Heritage Month, a time to reflect on the systemic barriers that 61% of Native Americans encounter when seeking affordable dementia care. With nearly 102,000 people in Minnesota living with Alzheimer’s, the urgency for equitable research and care is more pressing than ever.
